Sitting in the waiting room at the dealer. Brought my Sonic in since the coolant is leaking, still.
They need to order new water pump hoses. Fine.
They are holding it hostage until they come in. Apparently if I take the car home they won't be able to fix it until the end of the month.

I'm now at the rental car office. Let's see what land yacht they give me...

how do they not have water pump hoses in stock for a sonic? You could probably walk down to any auto parts shop and pick some up. What was wrong with it? I would think the hoses would still be good.

It's had a coolant leak since day one. This is the third dealer who is attempting to fix it.

Wasn't that a recall?

I wish I knew someone that works at a Chevy dealer.... well, I know a good parts guy at Braeger, but that doesn't help.

It had a service bulletin for the water pump, but that's it.

I've gone to this one because I know a guy who's a tech. And then I get there today, after requesting him when I made the appointment, and they tell me he's not in. Strike one.
The service writer was bored and cut me off. Strike two.
And now it's held hostage.
I'm trading this thing in come spring. Over it.

water pumps are common to go on 1.4l turbo motors , are they sure it's not just the pump?

They swear it's the hoses... Even after I brought up the letter Chevy sent out saying the pumps have issues.
I'm over the car. This summer I'm going to get something else, fixed or not.
